Exhaustion is slow and insidious

Exhaustion is slow and insidious. It will creep up on you when you least expect it. One day you'll be going aboout your business and you'll go to pick up your glasses only to discover they've made the wrong pair sunglasses and all of a sudden you just can't take any more. Its not so much that you want to hit the lady behind the counter as you'd just like to shout and stamp your feet a bit and then go home and sleep for the rest of the day. But you chose motherhood so instead you must go home get covered in carrot puree, clean it up, deal with a fussy child (who you really hope is not teething), try to stay awake and play games. The Christmas holidays can not come soon enough - back to a two parent household, Yay. Thank goodness for that little toothy grin and the fact that your child always has something new going on. For now its trying to feed himself (very funny and messy) and reaching out for me (so cute and makes me feel very wanted).
