Meet the Peas today.
Wow how time has flown by. This is our family of Peas today (2020). Those new parents are now old hands (who still constantly made rookie mistakes) and those tiny little Peas have grown into beautiful children (with one extra added to the clan).
Curious George
Is still curious and asks questions like "What viruses have no cure?" He is now 9 years old. He is an avid cricketer and spends his spare time building marble and car tracks. He loves maths and is constantly seeking extension work at school.
Jelly Bean
Is our social butterfly full of imagination and excitement. She is now 7 years old. She loves gymnastics and dancing and just about any extra mural we will allow her to add to her over flowing schedule.
Mr E
Is our special adopted little person. He is now 5 years old. He is the joker in our house and is constantly trying to make people laugh along with him. He loves sport - any sport - and is very good at anything with a ball.
The mom with the yellow hat
I am now a fully qualified foundation phase teacher and teach at an amazing Reggio inspired preschool here in South Africa. I now use all my creativity in my teaching and absolutely love it. As with most working moms I struggle with my work/home balance and wish I had more hours in the day.
Super Dad P
Still a super fabulous dad, mathematician, musician, DIYer, super-hero t-shirt wearer. But now a serious Data Scientist with years of experience under his belt.
The Peas as they were.
Curious George P
Is my precious first born son. He was born 2 weeks early on 26 May 2010 so from day 1 he's been rearing to go, get out there and explore the world. He is a contented, even tempered little soul with a smile for everyone, especially waiters and cashiers who love him. He enjoys playing with mom and dad and his three sets of grandparents who all dote on him as he's the first grandchild. When he was smaller he loved to watch the world around him and now he loves to explore. Anything and everything is interesting to him which is why I've nicknamed him Curious George on my blog as he really is as inquisitive as his monkey counterpart from the books. The line from the Curious George books that best sums up my boy is ...... George was a good little monkey and always very curious. For all you South African's who are not familiar with the Curious George books take a look at Curious George.com and Curious George.com Movie Trailer
The New Parents.
My husband and I have been married for four years but have been together for 12. We are best friends and exact opposites. God brought us together to compliment each other’s strengths and weaknesses and we have done that through great times and tough times, we are worship leaders in our church and truly invested in being the best parents God can guide us to be.
The mom in the yellow hat P
(named after George's unwitting friend, keeper and exploration companion the Man in the Yellow Hat)
Stay at home, work from home mother, educator, designer, creative thinker, sharer and friend.
Super Dad P
Super fabulous dad, mathematician, musician, doer, super-hero t-shirt wearer and consultant.
Jelly Bean
The newest member of our family. Our precious gift from God. She is a real charmer and loves to get everyone around her to smile at her. Most people call her smiler or smiley girl because of her infectious and ever present grin. She is a real little socialite who love to clap hands, listen to music and put things (anything) in her mouth.
