When Murphy's law and a sick child get together

When Murphy's law and a sick child get together, which happens whenever you child is sick, the following is likely to happen:

* Your child will be absolutely fine during the day but will strike a 40 degree temp at 1am when there's no one awake to consult, your brain is not working and your stupid thermometer has no back light so you can't read it without waking your child up completely.
* Your little one gets sick over the weekend when you GP is off.
* After hours of agonising over the decision you finally take your child to an emergency room and by the time you get there the raging fever you've been battling has come down and the doctor looks at you like - "really newbie"
* After being up all night your little one still wakes at his usual wake up time. So much for sleep.
* Unlike an adult your very sick child does not understand the value of sleeping to feel better so you have to entertain a grumpy child all day.
* They seem to be doing better during the day so you don't take them to the GP on Monday but that night they're I'll again.
* When you finally take them to the GP she can't understand what you're on about because they are smiling and playing.
* When they start to get better all of a sudden they'll., get a secondary infection and you're back to square one (but at least now you can take antibiotics).
* The antibiotic that is meant to make your child better wreaks havoc with their system and you get all sorts of other nasty issues like terrible nappy rash.
* You get whatever your child has just as they're getting better. So now you feel horrid but they want to play.

Ah the joys of sick children.
