The Big 30th Party

So last year Super dad and I both turn the big 30 and seeing as our birthdays are only a few weeks apart (I'm the old lady) we decided to have a big joint blow out. It was a load of hard work but the party was a blast and it was all worth it. We decided to have an 80's Fun Fair complete with carnival style games and an day glo 80's colour palette. You can see the my inspiration board here on Pinterest.

We had carnival games, lots of food and a bouncy boxer. You earned tickets by playing the carnival games which then could be used to 'buy' prizes or food and drinks. This was Super dad's idea and it worked very well in getting everyone to play the games and have some fun. So without further ado welcome to our 80's Fun Fair.

This sign was held up by people made from mops and dressed in our own clothes from the 80's.
Our crazy 80's outfits.
Jelly Bean's Little hat (she and I had a matching set made for the occasion)
Curious George's cool dude outfit with glasses that matched dad's
One of our younger guests in her 80's garb with a fake mustache she chose as a prize.
Super dad's bestie and his girlfriend all dressed up.
Styling in my mini top hat.
Super Dad ready to rumble in the giant bouncy boxer.
My bestie and her family. Her hubby won best dressed man for his George Michael look. But I think they definitely won best dressed family as well. She came as Madonna and her son had a Frankie say Relax Tshirt on and a Flock of Seagulls hair style.
This is my aunt she won best dressed woman. She dressed as her preggie self with a photo of her three kids around her neck. She said when she was trying to think what she wore in the 80's she realised she was pregnant for most of the 80's (1981,1983,1987) so she came in maternity ware. So funny.
Our garden all set up. Carnival games down the driveway, kids play area under the tree, bouncy boxer in the right corner and of course food in the middle.
Ring toss. The rings were made from the plastic ring from our nappy bin bags.
My uncle - aim and fire.
Squirt Squirt - use a water pistol to knock ping pong balls off golf tees.
Our minister having a go at the Ping Pong Pitch.

Ping pong Pitch - throw ping pong balls into a selection of cups and bowls. Each bowl had a different sticker in it which were worth different points.
Tin Tower - use a bean bag to knock over the cans. In this photo you can see my 86 year old grandmother having a go. Everyone really got into it and had loads of fun.
Our sweetie bar and our amazing cake.
Our 80's carnival style cake was made by a friend of mine. She is a real artist.
Make a wish.
Cut that cake. The cake was a rainbow neon swirl inside. Awesome.
The main event, Super dad and his bestie having a real go at each other in the bouncy boxer.
My mom and the kiddos having fun.
My brother under attack and hamming it up for his girlfriend's daughter.

As you can see we had a blast and so did all our guests. Can't wait to start planning the 40th (LOL).
