Toddler - Human under construction

A while ago I was allowing my son to express his anger, at a friends house, by shouting it out. While he screamed I had a thought; outsiders viewing this scene would probably think what a bad parent, that child is so badly behaved. That's when I realised that the toddler years are fraught with this type of scene. When we went on holiday my son spent a morning moaning that he didn't have this toy or that toy. So I took him outside and together (with me leading by example) we had a huge moan. Using the moaniest, whiniest voices we could we stomped around and said all the things that were irritating us. Then we left our moanies outside and went in to enjoy the holiday.

Toddlerdom is all about forming the ground work for behaviour in later life so there are bound to be lots of bumps along the way. I realised that I can't expect my toddler to behave exactly as
I'd like the first time I correct him. Its a learning process. Sometimes he'll get it right and sometimes he will get it very wrong but I will be there to help him and guide him towards acceptable behaviour.

This understanding led me to create the following image which I would love to turn into a poster and paste at all our frequent hangouts.
