Toddler sculpture

Tuesdays seem to be art day in our house. Maybe because its the one day we are not rushing off somewhere. This week I decided to let Curious George try his hand a some sculpture seeming as he loves to build. I put out some things for him to choose from and we looked at some pictures of modern abstract sculpture on the iPad for a few minutes.

Then I let him loose. I did have to do some questions bg and prompting. I tired to use open ended questions to keep his interest. For example; what shall we use as the base? What could we do with these fuzzy balls? Where could we stick this? Look there are sone sticks in the box shall we try those?

To be honest I did do quite a bit of refocusing to get him into it. Mostly he wanted to put the things inside his fire truck. But in the end he did have a good time and was proud of his creation.

Clear glue (he showed me where he wanted something and I glued it)
